Winter Walls: How to Bring Warmth and Beauty Into Your Home This Season

‘A Winter Visitor’ - Watercolour robin sitting on a branch, a charming British wildlife art print.

There’s something quietly magical about winter, isn’t there? The world slows down, the light changes, and we find ourselves wanting our homes to feel like proper sanctuaries — warm, cosy, and full of beauty. And one of the loveliest (and easiest!) ways to do that is through the art on your walls.

Whether you’re a fan of crisp, icy blues and greys or the warmer, earthier tones of a frost-covered field, there’s a winter palette out there that will make your heart sing. Here are a few of my favourite prints from the Crafty Cow Design collection that feel just right for this season.

For the lovers of winter wilderness…

If you’re drawn to the quiet, breathtaking beauty of the natural world in winter, ‘Arctic Stillness’ is for you. This watercolour polar bear print is all about calm — the kind of peace you feel standing in crisp, cold air with nothing but wide open space around you. The cool whites, soft blues and muted tones make it a beautiful addition to any room where you want to create a sense of stillness and wonder. It looks stunning in a light, neutral space.

For a touch of classic Christmas charm…

Is there any bird more beloved at this time of year than the robin? I don’t think so! ‘A Winter Visitor’ and ‘Among the Twigs’ are two of my favourite seasonal prints — both feature the iconic little robin in his winter surroundings, full of character and warmth. They’re the kind of prints that make you smile every time you walk past them. Perfect on their own or displayed together as a little pair.

For something unexpectedly cosy…

Now this one might surprise you — but my sheep print set is one of the most wintery things in the collection! The three prints together capture the earthy warmth of the British countryside in the colder months — think muddy fields, misty mornings, and the kind of warm, woolly palette that feels like a hug. They’re not overtly Christmassy, which means they’ll look just as beautiful in January and February when the festive stuff has come down and you still want your walls to feel warm and seasonal.

A little styling tip…

Winter art doesn’t have to mean dark or heavy. Some of the most beautiful winter-themed rooms use a mix of cool, icy tones alongside warm neutrals and natural textures — think linen, wood, candles, and greenery alongside your prints. Let the art set the mood, and build the rest of the room around it.

All of these prints are available in a range of sizes and can be framed or unframed to suit your space. They also make the most beautiful gifts — for a loved one, or honestly, for yourself. You deserve a little beauty this winter too. 💛
