Can you believe we're already in October? This year has absolutely flown by — and I realise I owe you a proper catch-up!
It's been a full and beautiful season here, both in life and in the studio. A print sold recently — one of my older wave paintings — and it made my day. There's something so lovely about a piece finding its person, even when you least expect it. A little reminder that the right things find each other in their own good time.
I've had lots of ideas bubbling away for new designs too — both watercolour prints and Bible verse pieces. There's something about this time of year, as the light changes and the evenings draw in, that makes me want to create things that bring warmth and comfort to people's homes. Prints that you can glance at on a grey Tuesday morning and feel held.
And then there was Jamaica — oh my goodness.
We had the most extraordinary holiday. YH Falls took my breath away, the food was incredible, and the people were so warm and welcoming. But it was the colours that undid me completely. The Caribbean sea is like nothing I've ever seen — turquoise and deep blue and green all at once, shifting in the light. And the sunsets. Completely unfiltered, completely extraordinary. God's handiwork at its finest.
We also had a rather unexpected close encounter with a crocodile. Suffice to say I kept my distance. 🐊
I came home feeling deeply grateful and full of wonder — the kind of awe that reminds you how extraordinary this world is, and how much beauty there is to draw from. That feeling always feeds into what I create. I want every print at Crafty Cow Design to carry a little of that — beauty, meaning, and the quiet reminder that you are loved and held.
