'Taking Flight' – Oil painting reproduction print with vivid hues.

Art has always been my way of expressing feelings that words cannot capture. When I painted the original oil painting ‘Taking Flight’, I was thinking about freedom, energy, and the beauty of simply being myself without constraint. This piece came from a desire to release, to let go, and to allow colour to carry me somewhere lighter and more joyful.

The colour palette is central to this piece. I chose pinks and violets for their vibrancy, paired with uplifting lemon yellow and lime green, which together create a sense of air and light. A touch of orange adds warmth and spark, while subtle strokes of raw umber bring grounding and balance. The result is an abstract piece that feels as if it is moving, rising, and breathing with its own rhythm.

‘Taking Flight’ is about more than just colour and shape. It is about a state of being – that moment when you break free from expectations, when you allow yourself to shine, when you rise above self-doubt and let your true energy flow. Every brushstroke was placed with the intention of capturing this feeling of release and transformation.

Now available as a print, ‘Taking Flight’ can be enjoyed in a variety of sizes, bringing colour, movement, and light into your home. It’s a modern abstract piece that works beautifully in many settings – whether you want to energise a creative workspace, add personality to a bedroom, or make a bold statement in a living room.

This piece is a reminder that art has the power to uplift, inspire, and reconnect us with our own sense of freedom. ‘Taking Flight’ is not just about what you see, but how it makes you feel.
