Taking Flight, Growing In Colour And Love

1 Corinthians 16:14 – gentle scripture print with abstract pastel movement.

There are moments in an artist’s journey that feel like quiet turning points, and this painting was one of mine. I created the original artwork behind my new Love print during a time when I was really leaning into growth — stretching myself, trying new things, and learning to paint with more honesty and freedom. Somewhere in that process, I felt something shift. It was as if I finally stepped into a style that felt fully mine, and that was such a beautiful and surprising feeling.

The painting itself is called Taking Flight because that’s exactly what it felt like. The colours are bright and also pastel, peaceful but also wonderfully vibrant in places. The brushstrokes move almost like wings or like light being carried by the breeze. It reminded me of what it feels like to begin something new — a little unsure, a little excited, but full of hope.

1 Corinthians 16:14 – Christian home decor print with vibrant abstract artwork.

As the painting developed, I felt drawn to pair it with 1 Corinthians 16:14: “Let all that you do be done in love.” It’s a simple verse, yet it carries such depth because it points us straight back to God — the source of all true love. His love is the foundation of our growth, the reason we keep stepping forward, and the steadying hand that holds us firm when life feels uncertain. It’s God’s love that strengthens us, guides us and gently carries us when we take those brave little leaps into the new things He has for us.

This print feels joyful, tender and uplifting — a reminder that we grow best when we grow in love. My hope is that it brings the same encouragement into your home that it brought to me while painting it. Sometimes all it takes is a little movement, a little colour and a little faith to realise we’re taking flight too.
