Finding Strength in Joy – A Reflection on Nehemiah 8:10

One of the most comforting truths in Scripture is found in Nehemiah 8:10: “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” These simple yet profound words have carried many through seasons of challenge, uncertainty, and weariness. I wanted to create a piece of artwork that visually reflected this promise – a reminder that even amidst life’s storms, our strength does not come from our own striving but from resting in the joy of the Lord.

Nehemiah 8:10 Christian print of ocean waves and rocky coastline.

The image in this print comes from one of my very first oil paintings and shows a beach scene which captures the calm of the shoreline with waves gently brushing against the sand, and the solid cliffs standing firm – a symbol of God's unshakable strength. I chose a palette of serene blues to evoke peace and stillness, helping the viewer to pause, breathe, and remember where true strength lies.

This print is more than just a piece of decor – it’s a daily encouragement, a scripture to meditate on, and a gentle invitation to realign your heart with joy found only in Him.

Whether you hang it in your hallway, gift it to a friend walking through a difficult season, or keep it by your desk for daily inspiration, I pray it brings comfort and hope. I’ve poured my heart and prayers into this piece, and it’s my joy to share it with you.

Let it be a quiet declaration in your home: His joy is your strength, and He is ever faithful.
