Finding Rest When Life Feels Heavy: Matthew 11:28-30

Matthew 11:28-30 - Rest scripture poster featuring figure carrying burden through beautiful wildflower landscape.

Lately I've been carrying a lot. Not physically, but that deep-down tiredness that settles into your bones and doesn't shift no matter how much you sleep. You know the feeling? Like you're climbing uphill with something heavy on your shoulders, and the top seems impossibly far away.

That's exactly what inspired this print. The artwork shows someone making their way up a slope, weighed down by a burden. It's honest, and it felt true to where I've been. Life isn't always light and easy. Sometimes it's one difficult step after another, head bowed, just trying to keep going.

But here's the part I love: the wildflowers covering the hillside. Bright oranges, warm reds, gentle blues. They're there to show that even when we're struggling, even when our eyes are fixed on the ground beneath our feet, beauty surrounds us. God places it there, scattered through our hardest days, whether we notice it or not.

This print features one of my favourite passages, Matthew 11:28-30. Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." There's no judgement in those words. No "you should be coping better." Just an invitation. Come here. Let me take the weight.

What I keep coming back to is this: whatever we're carrying, however large it feels, God is stronger. He carries us and our burdens through every difficult season. We weren't meant to do it alone, to white-knuckle our way through exhaustion and pretend we're fine.

If life feels heavy for you right now, I hope this print speaks to your heart. You're not alone on that hill. God is there, holding you up, surrounding you with beauty, offering rest that goes deeper than just catching your breath.
