Capturing the Gentle Rhythm of the Sea in Watercolour

I’m excited to introduce Emerald Tide, a new addition to my Painted by Sunlight print collection. This piece was inspired by the ever-changing moods of the sea — the way colours shift and merge as the tide moves in and out, creating a beautiful dance of light and water.

Flowing indigo, blue and emerald green stripes blend in a loose watercolour painting called Emerald Tide. Abstract water-inspired loose watercolour art with indigo and green hues merging softly.

Using loose, flowing brushstrokes, I worked with indigo, blue, and emerald green hues to create vertical stripes that merge softly down the page. The result is a painting that feels both calming and vibrant — a gentle invitation to pause, breathe, and connect with nature’s rhythm.

Emerald Tide reflects my ongoing love for the sea and my desire to capture its energy through abstract forms and colour. This piece fits perfectly with the other paintings in the Painted by Sunlight print collection, each one a celebration of natural light and colour.

Whether you live by the coast or simply find peace in the idea of water and movement, I hope Emerald Tide brings a moment of calm and joy to your home. It’s a reminder that even in stillness, there’s beauty in the flow.

Thank you for sharing this journey with me — stay tuned for more vibrant waves of colour to come!
