Loose Watercolor Hummingbird Print - There’s something about hummingbirds that feels almost otherworldly — the blur of their wings, the flash of colour, the stillness held in a single beat. I painted this little one in a loose, expressive style to capture that delicate in-between moment. That breath of beauty before it disappears again.

This watercolour print features a green and brown hummingbird mid-flight, soaring across a soft turquoise sky. It’s painted with free-flowing brushstrokes, just enough ink to bring it to life, and a whole lot of joy. I love how the soft washes of colour bring a sense of movement and openness — it’s not meant to be exact, but to feel like a memory. A glimpse.

I’ve always been inspired by nature’s quieter moments — the unnoticed flutter, the shimmer of wings, the spaces in between sound and stillness. Painting birds, especially in watercolour, gives me a way to celebrate that. This piece feels light and calm, yet alive. I think that’s why so many people connect with hummingbirds — they seem to hold so much wonder in such a tiny body.

Whether you’re decorating a hallway, bedroom, or creating a gallery wall full of nature-inspired pieces, this print brings a touch of gentle magic. The turquoise sky adds a playful pop of colour while the earthy tones in the bird bring warmth and grounding. It’s calming, yes, but also uplifting — like a deep breath or an unexpected moment of peace.

This would make a thoughtful gift for a bird lover, a friend who needs a little encouragement, or someone who appreciates the beauty in small things. I’ve printed it on high-quality paper to make sure the delicate textures and layered brushwork come through beautifully. It's ready for you to pop in a frame and let it bring a bit of wild, winged charm into your space.

To me, art is about capturing feeling — and I hope this piece brings some of that joy and lightness into your home. I imagine it hanging quietly, catching your eye just when you need a moment of stillness or colour.
