When I painted Echoes in Still Water, I was thinking about those moments when everything feels hushed — when the sea rests, the air softens, and peace settles quietly around you. I wanted to capture that calm, that sacred stillness where God often feels closest.
Later, I paired this painting with one of my favourite verses, Philippians 4:7:
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
The two belong together — the words and the image both speak of a peace that isn’t shaken by the world. The colours — silvery blues, whites, and soft teal — seem to echo the feeling of God’s gentle presence, the way His peace can steady us even in the quietest moments.
This print is for anyone who longs for calm, reflection, or simply a reminder that His peace is greater than our understanding. Whether it hangs above your bed, in a hallway, or by a prayer space, I hope it brings a breath of stillness into your home and your heart.
Do you have a verse that helps you feel calm when life feels uncertain? I’d love to hear.
