'Sailing in the Harbour' – Watercolour Print of Sailing Boats with Rainbow Sails in Poole Harbour - Inspired by a breezy afternoon watching boats drift gently across Poole Harbour, ‘Sailing in the Harbour’ is my watercolour tribute to that peaceful, coastal rhythm I love so much. The rainbow sails caught my eye first — full of movement and life — so I set out to capture that soft energy against the calm backdrop of sea and sky. There’s a lovely contrast between the vibrancy of the sails and the quiet blues and greys of the harbour, and I really enjoyed playing with that balance as I painted.

This print has been professionally reproduced from my original artwork onto smooth archival paper, so you can see every brushstroke and colour blend just as I painted them. It’s the kind of piece that brings a fresh, uplifting atmosphere to a room — light, gentle, and full of coastal charm.

It works beautifully in living rooms where you want to add a breezy focal point, or in bedrooms and quieter corners of the home that need a bit of calm and colour. I also think it suits entranceways or hallways — there’s something cheerful about being greeted by a little moment of harbour life as you walk in. In a home office, it can be a soft, inspiring reminder of fresh air and freedom while you work.

This print also makes a thoughtful gift. It’s perfect for someone who loves sailing or has fond memories of Poole Harbour, or for anyone decorating a beach house or dreaming of the sea. Whether it’s a birthday, Christmas or housewarming, it’s a piece that speaks of peaceful moments and the joy of colour.

Available in a variety of sizes, from A5 to 50x70cm, this print is a gentle splash of coastal life — painted with heart, and made to bring a sense of calm and colour into your space.
