‘The Sea Beneath Us Is Deep’ Abstract Ocean Painting Print - ‘The Sea Beneath Us Is Deep’ is a coastal themed print that captures the mystery and power of the ocean in a bold, abstract style. The original of this square seascape is painted with sweeping brushstrokes in layered tones of blue, teal, turquoise, and white, each overlapping wave suggesting depth and movement. The result is a piece that feels both dynamic and contemplative, inviting you to imagine the vastness of the sea beneath the surface.

As I created this painting, my inspiration was the sense of awe that comes from standing at the water’s edge and contemplating what lies beyond and beneath. The ocean is full of contrasts—calm on the surface yet teeming with energy and life underneath and the colours are ever changing. This is what I wanted to express through colour and texture, using confident strokes and blended hues to evoke the ebb and flow of waves as they meet and merge.

This print is available from 8x8" to 53x53", making it a versatile statement piece that works beautifully in a variety of settings. Its modern square format and cool coastal tones make it ideal for display in a contemporary living room, above a bed in a calming bedroom retreat, or in a stylish office where it can bring a sense of serenity and inspiration. Its abstract nature allows it to blend seamlessly with minimalist, modern, and coastal interior design schemes.

‘The Sea Beneath Us Is Deep’ also makes a thoughtful and meaningful gift for anyone who loves the ocean or appreciates art that tells a story. It would be perfect for a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, or housewarming, particularly for someone with a deep connection to the sea. This painting is more than just decor—it’s a conversation starter, a window to the beauty and mystery of the natural world.

Bring the beauty, depth, and quiet strength of the ocean into your space with ‘The Sea Beneath Us Is Deep’. Let this painting remind you of the vastness that lies beneath and beyond—the unseen depths that make the sea so endlessly fascinating.
