'Old Harry Reflections' - Original Dorset Seascape Painting, Jurassic Coast Wall Art - Old Harry Reflections is an atmospheric oil painting that captures the dramatic elegance of one of Dorset’s most iconic landmarks: Old Harry Rocks. Painted on a long, panoramic canvas (79.5 x 29.3 x 3.5 cm), this piece is part of my Simmering Shores collection – a series inspired by the quiet majesty of the coastline I call home.
This piece is painted predominantly in deep, inky indigo and rich burnt umber tones, giving it a near-monochrome feel that lets the natural forms of the rocks and waves take centre stage. I’ve also added gentle touches of gold paint to the sea and reflections, so that when the light catches it, the canvas shimmers. It’s subtle, but adds a lovely warmth and contrast, creating a sense of calm and wonder.
